It has been a while since my last update on this blog. In fact, as the last post dates from more than a year ago I cannot say that I haven't neglected the blog. But what the heck have I done this last year.
Looking back and forth
A year ago I told you that I would give it a try as a full time indie game developer and that is exactly what I have done. In the last year I have done almost nothing else, the exception being a 2 month contract on a social shopping app for Windows Phone.
Today I can tell that all the hard work was totally worth it. My revenue still grows every month (not as much as I would like) but that is compensated by the fact that my next game is for a large part funded by a partner.
With confidence I can now say that I have all the resources to work on some very nice new titles.
A strong foundation
Despite of working full time as an indie game developer I managed to release only 4 new games. My last game Air Hockey was released just a couple of days ago. To be honest, I had expected to release more games.
On a regular basis I had the feeling that I was spending too much time on the games. But, I always strive for good quality; although concessions had to be made. (There are various points were I would like to improve the current games.)
There were ups and downs but the foundation for the future was strengthened in the last year.
Recently I achieved the milestones of 1,000,000 downloads and about 20,000 daily players.
With 2 new titles on the roadmap, and partial funding for one of my games I can tell that my existence as an indie game developer will not stop here. In the next year you will hear more about me.
